Desert sage cleanses living spaces by repelling harmful and heavy energies. It can also be used to purify objects and people. Traditionally, the fumigation ritual was used to expel negative energies and purify body and soul.

This sage is very strong. It is easier to burn with other herbs such as White Sage, Cedar or Sweetgrass.

Although considered sage by First Nations, botanically it belongs to the Asteraceae family in the Artemesia genus like Mugwort and Canadian Prairie Sage.

Description

Use :

To purify a person, simply direct the smoke from the desert sage stick onto the person using your hand or a feather. Then direct the smoke over the whole body, from head to toe. To purify objects, pass them through the desert sage smoke with full awareness, intending to dispel any negative energies attached to them.

Get yourself a bowl or small heat-resistant container. Take your stick in your hand and start burning the edge of the leaves with a match. Let the leaves burn for a few seconds, then shake the stick in the air to extinguish the flames so that only smoke remains.

Caution: Sage must be used in a well-ventilated area.

Then let the stick burn in the chosen spot, or take it around the room with you.

If you need to extinguish the stick, smother it in sand, for example, to stop it burning.
